SUTURE I KRUUSE Chromic Catgut KRUUSE Chromic Catgut Twisted multifilament with a monofilament appearance: For secure knot tying and easy handling Coated: Chromic coating for prolonged absorption time Absorbable: By hydrolysis KRUUSE Chromic Catgut, an absorbable suture, is obtained by longitudinally slitting the submucosa of bovine intestine, twisting the ribbons and joining them in wet condition to give a monofilament finish. The rate of absorption is slowed down by treatment with chromic salt solution. Absorption is faster in infected tissue and in tissues with increased levels of proteolytic enzymes (stomach, cervix, vagina). Absorption: Absorbable: n Complete mass absorption in approximately 90 days n Absorption by hydrolysis and enzymatic proteolysis Chemical composition: n Chrome-treated natural purified collagen n Obtained by longitudinally slitting the submucosa of bovine intestine, twisting the ribbons and joining them in wet condition to give a monofilament finish n Treated with chromium salt solution Tensile Strength: n 50 % remains after 14 days n Complete mass absorption in approximately 90 days Colour: n Natural Indications: KRUUSE Chromic Catgut sutures are indicated for soft tissue approximation and ligation, where absorbable sutures are indicated, including: n Subcutaneous tissue n Uterus n Ligation of ovarian vessels and ligaments Range: n USP 4-0 to 1 n EP 2 to 5 Features and benefits n n n n Twisted multifilament suture with a monofilament appearance - excellent knot stability Medium absorption time - tensile strength 50% after 2 week Primarily suitable for ligation and gynaecology Catgut is a biological suture, and tends to create more tissue reaction than synthetic sutures www.kruuse.com KRUUSE© 06/2016 · 19452
