ISUTURE KRUUSE PD-X PLUS KRUUSE PD-X PLUS Monofilament: For smooth passage through tissue and high tissue compatibility Synthetic: Minimal tissue reaction Antibacterial: To reduce incidence of infection, oedema and pain Absorbable: By hydrolysis KRUUSE PD-X PLUS is an antibacterial, absorbable, monofilament synthetic suture with a smooth surface that gives minimal tissue reaction. Chlorhexidine diacetate is the antibacterial component. KRUUSE PD-X PLUS, being an absorbable suture, should not be used where extended approximation of tissue under stress or tension is required and in patients with known allergic reactions to Chlorhexidine diacetate. KRUUSE PD-X PLUS tested in vitro creates a zone of inhibition against the most common surgical site pathogens including Staphylococcus aureus. Features and benefits n Monofilament suture - Antibacterial n Long absorption time - tensile strength: 75% after 2 weeks n Suitable for tissues with longer healing time n Recommended to use in fibrous tissues such as fascias, joint capsulas, ligaments and tendons n Especially suitable in infected tissues with increased enzymatic activity Absorption: Absorbable: n Complete mass absorption in approximately 180-210 days n Absorption by hydrolysis Chemical composition: n KRUUSE PD-X PLUS is a slowly absorbable synthetic monofilament suture, and the material is composed of Polydioxanone (PDO) Tensile Strength: n 75 % remains after 14 days n 60 % remains after 28 days n Complete mass absorption in approximately 180-210 days Colour: n Violet Indications: KRUUSE PD-X PLUS is commonly used in soft tissues and ligation where absorbable sutures are indicated, including: n Abdominal wall closure n GI-surgery n Fascia and ligaments n Tendon repair n Hernias n Orthopaedics n Vascular surgery Range: n USP 4-0 to 2 n EP 1.5 to 5 KRUUSE© 06/2016 · 19454 www.kruuse.com
