KRUUSE Rehabilitation Equipment We are pleased to launch the 5th KRUUSE Rehabilitation Equipment catalogue containing our complete range of rehabilitation products. Our rehabilitation products are designed with care and focus on the anatomy of the dog and with the purpose to help the dog back to correct movement and a stronger more balanced core. 5 years ago, we introduced our first KRUUSE Rehab catalogue, and demands for this catalogue along with the progress of rehabilitation products in general have created a need for this updated edition. Canine Rehabilitation Canine rehabilitation is the use of physical modalities in conjunction with therapeutic exercises in order to improve the patients’ recovery from surgical conditions and injuries. The goal is to return a patient from reduced function to peak performance. Any form of musculoskeletal injury can benefit from pre- and postoperative rehabilitation. Orthopedic injuries and conditions, such as cruciate ligament injuries, hip and elbow dysplasia, fractures, and muscle injuries will also benefit from rehabilitation. The physical rehabilitation should begin immediately after surgery, getting the inflammation reduced and under control, and in the following days, incorporating passive range of motion, and other manual rehabilitation therapies. Canine Physiotherapy can help n Improve range of motion n Reduce the pain, swelling and complications n Recover and resume normal activity n Improve muscle strength n Reduce the risk of other injuries n Reduce the need for painkillers n Improve muscle, nerve and joint function n Stabilisation n Relaxation Dr. Donald Moffatt, BSc., DVM, DVSc. Executive Director, International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractic (IAVC), and Co-owner of the veterinary practice Drs. Moffatt, for Chiropractic and Acupuncture “Dogs involved with rehabilitation and pre-or post-surgical cases can significantly benefit from joint support devices. Providing stabilisation, compression and intermittent warmth can be very beneficial to the healing process. The ability to take part in controlled movement exercises during rehabilitation is known to be associated with decreased pain. Neoprene joint supporters can provide that opportunity for movement and support a functional healing process. Providing much needed intermittent joint support for geriatric dogs can be easily achieved using neoprene joint supporting devices. This not only directly stabilises, provides warmth and decreases pain associated with weak arthritic joints, but can significantly improve their quality of life in their later years”. www.kruuse.com 3
