KRUUSE SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS Instrument Care Guide Take good care of your new instrument to make it last for many treatments. 1 Soaking n Soak the instrument in lukewarm water and instrument detergent immediately after use 2 Brushing n Use a nylon brush and instrument detergent n Never use abrasives on instruments n Focus on hard-to-clean areas n Remove all surgical debris n If not processed immediately, clean, rinse, and dry the instrument thoroughly n Use distilled water for rinsing 3 Cleaning n Use an instrument-friendly detergent n Avoid excessive use of detergent n Always clean the instrument in open position 4 Inspection n Inspect the instrument after cleaning and drying n Check moving parts for proper function and smooth operation n Examine sharp edges and serrations for any damage 5 Lubrication n Use a quality water-soluble lubricant as rust inhibitor to maintain the moving parts n Lubricate prior to sterilisation Proper handling: To avoid damage on the instrument, we recommend that it is used for its specific purpose only. 6 Sterilisation n Dry the instrument prior to sterilisation n Preheat the autoclave if possible n Use individual pouches or sets n Use pH-neutral towels without bleach residue n Avoid rushing the drying time n Don’t open the autoclave door prematurely to prevent stains n Ensure the instrument is completely dry before storage kruuse.com
